I came to James Madison Shell on the recommendation of a neighbor. I had my 11-year-old Mazda in on two separate occasions to address a variety items ranging from brakes, headlights, alternator, and suspension work. They also had to diagnose an intermittent electrical problem. On each interaction, they were capable, quick, communicative, and at least 30% cheaper than the dealer. The mechanics communicate clearly, and the service manager, Alex is up front - he even talked me out of a few unnecessary services - no hard sell here. On top of that, Alex was out sick during my last visit, and he took time from urgent care visits to text me and answer my questions - unprompted by me. Recommendations are the best way to find service providers. Like my neighbor, I recommend this shop.

Every time I talk with the service manager, Alex, I learn about my cars, and confirm that he is just as concerned with keeping them running as I am. He is patient and responsive, and always explains what they found and how they found it, as well as options for repairs. I always feel that his team is helpful.

Man this place was awesome . Very friendly staff. Got to speak at length with the manager Alex about my car. It’s had several ongoing issues but he was extremely informed , polite, professional and assured me that the coolant system issues I was having in my Chevy equinox is a very common problem. He priced me very fairly and assured me he would be able to have the car back the same day. He kept his word and earned my business for sure. 10/10 recommend this place. Ask for Alex you won’t be disappointed!
